What is an article?

An article (also: scholarly article, academic article) is a published piece of research appearing in a journal (either print or electronic) or an edited volume. Sometimes, articles are also called papers, especially before actual publication. Articles can have one or more authors; they are often peer-reviewed as part of the publication process, and many have unique identifiers known as DOIs.

You can search directly for relevant articles in the UR Library Search by selecting 'Search everything'; or if you know which journal an article appeared in, you can search for the title of the journal in the UR Library Search (for print journals) or in the A-Z Journals list (for electronic journals). If you are interested in an article that the library does not provide access to, you can request it as an Inter Library Loan.
