What is copyright and how do I find guidance?

Copyright protects original ideas in creative work, that is, most of the resources that you can find in the Library (including but not limited to: books, articles, films, photography, and more). To ensure you respect copyright and avoid plagiarism, you should always cite your sources and make sure you do not copy texts word for word unless you are directly citing them, among other things.
