What is copyright and how do I find guidance?

Copyright protects original ideas in creative work, including most of the resources that you can find in the Library (including but not limited to books, articles, films, photography, and more). To ensure you respect copyright and avoid plagiarism, you should always cite your sources and make sure you do not copy texts word for word unless you are directly citing them, among other things.

For help with referencing, see our referencing guide and the referencing & academic integrity page in the Learning Skills Hub. You can also search for relevant workshops on the Library calendar.
