Can I use the Library if I'm not a Roehampton student?

If you're not a current student or staff member at Roehampton you can still enter the Library if you're signed up for one of our membership schemes and have a membership card. We have several different types of membership that you can apply for that will let you use the Library.

Please note:

  • Visitors must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Wi-Fi access is not available in any of our membership schemes, although if you are a SCONUL member and your institution is signed up to use eduroam, you may be able to access the Wi-Fi via eduroam and your logins from your home university. For more guidance on this, see our eduroam page.

For more information about our membership schemes and details of how to apply visit our Visitors to the Library and collaborative partners page.

Overview of membership types - plain text version is below image.

Our paid membership schemes (£60, or £30 if you are a Roehampton alumnus) are valid for 1 year and allow you to borrow up to 5 items at a time from the Library. They also allow you to use the Library between 8am and 9pm during our 24 hour opening periods.

If you apply for membership via the SCONUL scheme and are Band A, B, or C then your membership will be valid for the length determined by your home institution. You'll also be able to borrow up to 5 items at a time and use the Library between 8am and 9pm during 24 hour periods.

If you are SCONUL Band R then you can use the Library outside of our 24 hour periods for reference-only access. This is the same if you sign up for our free Community membership, which is valid for 6 months.
